The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of the organization, ensuring that production, logistics, safety, quality, and compliance activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with company strategy, permits, and regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong cultural awareness and the ability to operate effectively in a structured, hierarchical environment. The role is intended for a professional who demonstrates the capacity and ambition to grow into a future General Manager position, subject to performance and organizational needs.
Operational Management
• Manage and oversee daily operations
• Translate company strategy, group policies, and management directives into executable operational plans
• Monitor operational KPIs and ensure execution in line with group expectations
• Balance operational efficiency with strict adherence to defined roles, procedures, and reporting lines
Safety, Compliance & Permits
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, permits, and regulations
• Act as primary operational counterpart for audits, inspections, and authorities
• Ensure audit readiness in line with both local requirements and group standards
People Management & Cultural Leadership
• Lead and develop operational staff
• Demonstrate respect for formal decision-making processes and seniority-based governance
• Act as a cultural bridge between Japanese management and Dutch workforce
• Maintain discipline, clarity, and consistency in leadership
Process & Continuous Improvement
• Implement improvements in a structured and well-documented manner
• Ensure changes align with group policies and approved decision-making channels
• Promote continuous improvement
Planning & Coordination
• Coordinate operations across departments with a strong focus on predictability and control
• Align local operations with corporate, regional, and group-level requirements
• Gradually develop a broader, site-wide perspective in preparation for potential General Manager responsibilities
Reporting & Communication
• Provide clear, factual, and timely reporting to management and stakeholders
• Communicate risks, deviations, and improvements in a structured, respectful way
